Ghana has a population of 25.5 million people. Its currency is called the Cedi which comes from a local word meaning cowry shells which were once used as money.

Did You Know: The black star in Ghana’s flag was adopted from legendary Pan African leader Marcus Garvey’s Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League, which had the Black Star Line Steamship company? Ghana is also the birth place of Afrobeat!
